Hi,
i’m jordan
OWNER OF IVORY ON CAMPBELL
WHERE DOES YOUR PASSION FOR BRIDAL COME FROM?
My passion for bridal started with my passion for all things fashion. (Say that three times fast...) I remember watching runway shows as a child asking my mom how to pronounce certain designers and being glued in front of the television wishing that one day I could be the stylist behind the scenes, fitting them for the runway. Fast forward many years later, I found myself working at a bridal store. I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be. I fell in love with the styling of the bride, making them feel beautiful and most importantly creating an experience that the Bride and her guests would remember for a lifetime. I traded in the runway for the aisle. The rest was history.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WISH BRIDES KNEW BUT YOU CAN’T TELL THEM?
To not bring 12 people to your appointment. Allow yourself the magic of watching the faces of the people you love when they see you walk down the aisle in your dress. More brides regret having a larger group at their appointment then the ones that leave it to 5 and under.
WHAT’S ONE OF YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN BRIDAL?
I am fortunate enough that my life in bridal has given me an opportunity to encompass both of my dreams. Styling someone for the most impactful day in their life and traveling to NY for bridal fashion week and seeing the latest trends from the top designers in the world. Sitting at the penthouse at Rockefeller Center, while sipping champagne and seeing the newest collection from one of my favorite designers all while listening to Andrea Bocelli. Literally I remember tearing up thinking, I am in my version of Heaven.
HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING IN BRIDAL?
18 years! Feels like yesterday was my first day...I guess it's true that when you do what you love you never work a day in your life.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Cooking with my husband, shopping with my oldest daughter Reilly, playing board games with my youngest Leighton Grey and making future travel plans with my husband for our family.
IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR BRIDES ONE PIECE OF MARRIAGE/WEDDING ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I have given the same advice since the day I met my husband. I have always said my husband Rob was the easiest thing in my whole life. When you go through something hard and then meet someone and everything is just easy. There's no second guessing, you know where you stand in your relationship and you both would rather be with each other than anyone else. That's the "easy" everyone should strive for.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS DESIGNER?
My favorite designer has to be Justin Warshaw from Justin Alexander. Within all of his collections, he always shows such range within his designs, capturing every bridal aesthetic. No matter what your budget or style is, he seems to have a dress for every bride.
